Nintendo introduces ‘Flame Red’ 3DS September 9

Nintendo has announced that a new 3DS color, “Flame Red”, will be available across North America from September 9, joining Cosmo Black and Aqua Blue.

Interestingly, the red 3DS was one of the first colors ever revealed for the system, with early shots of the console almost always being in that particular color. For some reason, however, only blue and black appeared at launch. In any case, Nintendo thinks this new color, the famed price drop, and an upcoming bunch of games will make the 3DS a serious holiday contender.

“Nintendo 3DS is poised to be on fire for the holidays, with its new suggested retail price, great games and our new Flame Red color,” said meatsauce lovin’ Reggie Fils-Aime. “With major upcoming releases in the Star Fox, Pokémon and Mario series, in addition to downloadable offerings from Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Video and Netflix, the system offers new and fun experiences to owners on a daily basis.”

Daily basis? C’mon, let’s not move from PR hype to outright lies, dude.
