Netflix on 3DS and Wii U is D-E-D dead, as of this week

These systems die a little bit every day

I’m one of the few weirdos who used devices like a 3DS or Wii U to play media sometimes. I mean, not so much anymore, but when the Wii U was in its heyday for example (I know what you’re thinking, “the Wii U never had a heyday,” take that back!), and it was there, and hooked up, it didn’t hurt. Plus, think of all the kids who only have a 3DS and one family TV.

Well, those folks are going to be a bit sad as of this week, as Nintendo has fully discontinued Netflix on both of those devices. As a reminder, Nintendo fully removed Netflix from the 3DS and Wii U eShops back on December 31, 2020 anyway, but now the apps will simply cease to function. There’s a lot of reasons for why someone may not want to continue to support an app, but in any case, they’re sunk now.

Again, I know someone is going to be like “WHO USED THIS?!” The one person who did on each device will shed a tear reading that. I hope you’re happy.
