Man, wouldn’t that be nice? A portable game system with near-HD visuals? We’ll have to wait until next week to see the real thing, but the rumor is that Nintendo’s upcoming portable will have processing power that even exceeds Nintendo’s most powerful console.
In IGN’s Everything We Know About the 3DS round-up they say:
Several developers that have experienced 3DS in its current form have reported, off the record, that it has processing capabilities that far exceed the Nintendo Wii and bring the device with abilities that are close to HD consoles such as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
They also say that other rumors point to an included analog stick and in-game vibration functions.
Whatever it is, I’m excited. I don’t necessarily need a 3D game system, but I’m always jazzed to hear what Nintendo has coming next. Selfishly, I hope the top screen is a large 16:9 one, sized closer to the PSP’s current screen (see above image of rumored test hardware).
