Pokemon Gold and Silver for 3DS codes will be sold in boxes

If you’re European and weren’t going to be satisfied just downloading Pokémon Gold & Silver from the Nintendo 3DS eShop on September 22, then you’ll be glad to know there is a physical version coming to Europe as well. Well, sort of. They are shipping shiny boxes with a download code in them.

Those boxes look pretty large to just carry a code, and I don’t know imagine an instruction booklet would take up much space either, so what could they be putting in there? I guess it would be somewhat wasteful to put those small games on 3DS cartridges, but making large boxes and shipping them around isn’t exactly frugal either.

It’s hard to look at this in any way but bizarre.
