How to find Dumpster Dive Sprite in Fortnite
The Dumpster Dive Sprite can be obtained by looting around the Fortnite island. Similar to the process for acquiring the vast majority of other Sprites, there’s no guaranteed way to get this one, so all you can do is loot as much as possible and hope luck is on your side.
This Sprite is Epic, which means it’s not super rare, but not incredibly common either. Still, in comparison to most others, it’s a lot easier to find once you know where to look. Here are all of the ways you can obtain a Dumpster Dive Sprite in Fortnite.
- Find and enter Cheat Codes. This is one of the overall best ways to find any Sprites, as every Cheat Code you open is guaranteed to contain one. Since this Sprite is Epic, you have a shot at finding it in any rarity Cheat Code, so be sure to open every one you come across.
- Smash Pumpkin Chests. For the duration of the Fortnitemares event, these special, seasonal containers are guaranteed to drop a Sprite when opened. Be on the lookout for them to potentially find this Sprite.
- Open blue chests. Blue chests are rare and often contain high-quality loot. They’re not guaranteed to drop a Sprite, but sometimes they do, so this is another potential way you may find the Dumpster Dive Sprite.
- Fish from gold spots. Anytime you spot a gold fishing spot, be sure to grab a nearby fishing rod and catch everything you can from it, as they generally drop very rare items and Sprites. These spots are fairly rare, but there is a Match Override that can be activated to turn all spots gold, so keep an eye out for that.
- Find it as a random loot item out in the world. All Sprites can also freely roam around the island. Since this one is Epic, the odds of finding it through this method are a bit better than they are for some others, but they’re still quite low. Still, be sure to watch for a small, raccoon-shaped Sprite wandering around while you explore, just in case you get lucky.
Finding and extracting this Sprite is essential for unlocking the free Jimothy Sidekick, so it’s a task you’ll want to get done as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on it.

There is no fixed spawn location or guaranteed method for getting the Dumpster Dive Sprite. All you can do is loot around the island and hope you end up encountering one.
