ESRB reveals Zelda Universe (Update)

[Update: Turns out this may actually be an older rating for the very Zelda site we mentioned in the article. No idea why it’s popped up again now and confused everyone on the Internet. We’ll do some more digging.]

[Update: This isn’t a case of “may actually,” it “is.” Nothing to get excited about. Visit Zelda Universe now at Zelda.com. – Nick]

What’s this? A mystery Zelda title in the year of its 25th anniversary? According to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, that’s definitely what’s happening.

Zelda Universe was recently listed by the ESRB, but due to the fact that it has not actually rated the game properly, nobody’s sure what it is. It doesn’t even have a console attached to it, listed only for “Online” platforms. The board’s given the game an “E” rating, but hasn’t offered its usual content summary.

Zelda Universe is the name of the official Legend of Zelda series site. Whether that has any bearing on this title remains to be seen, but it may indeed be more of an interactive celebration of the entire series rather than an actual game. That would be my personal guess, but it is only a guess.

What do you reckon it could be?
