To unlock Skull Rock in DDV, there are four key tasks you need to get done:

  • Complete all Dreamlight Valley story quests.
  • Place the pillars in Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place.
  • Complete A Forgotten Name.
  • Unlock The Forgotten.

Complete all Dreamlight Valley story quests

There are 39 story quests to tackle throughout the entire main storyline for Dreamlight Valley. If you have the A Rift in Time or The Storybook Vale DLCs, you don’t need to complete those story quests for this task. Instead, focus only on the tasks centered around the main village. This includes:

  • Welcome to Dreamlight Valley
  • The Royal Tools
  • The Dream Castle
  • Making Cents of Things
  • Fishing Expedition
  • Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-opening
  • Mickey’s Memories
  • Foodception
  • Friendship Is Everything
  • Rebuild the Valley: Peaceful Meadow
  • With Great Power…
  • Rebuild the Valley: Dazzle Beach
  • Lost in the Dark Grove
  • Rebuild the Valley: Forest of Valor
  • The Curse
  • Rebuild the Valley: Glade of Trust
  • Nature & Nurture
  • Rebuild the Valley: Sunlit Plateau
  • Working Miracles
  • The Great Blizzard
  • Rebuild the Valley: Frosted Heights
  • Miracles Take Time
  • Forgotten Memories: Friendship
  • Forgotten Memories: Trust
  • Forgotten Memories: Nurturing
  • What’s Left Behind
  • Islands in the Sky
  • The Forgotten Relics
  • Forgotten Relics: The Storybook
  • Forgotten Relics: The Drawing
  • Forgotten Relics: The Blanket
  • Forgotten Relics: Beach Toys
  • The Dark Castle
  • The Remembered
  • Odds & Ends…
  • Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place
  • Rebuild the Valley: Forgotten Lands
  • Slow and Steady
  • The Memento

Place the pillars in Between a Skull Rock and a Hard Place

The next task you need to get done is placing all pillars around the small island right by Skull Rock during the Between Skull Rock and a Hard Place quest. This is one of the last story quests you need to tackle to open Skull Rock, so if you focus on working through all of them, you’ll naturally get this one done too. Placing the pillars is what initially moves Skull Rock, although there’s a bit more work to be done before it actually opens.

Complete A Forgotten Name

The A Forgotten Name quest is where Skull Rock finally opens to you. Talk to The Forgotten and head over to Skull Rock to work through this quest. It’s a fairly short one, but it’s crucial for accessing the inside of Skull Rock.

Unlock The Forgotten

The last step for unlocking Skull Rock is getting The Forgotten in your valley as an official villager. Everything else listed here needs to be complete before you can unlock The Forgotten. They join your vallet right at the very end of the A Forgotten Name quest, and as soon as they do, you can return to Skull Rock and head inside to start the process of unlocking Peter Pan.
