The A Forgotten Name quest seems to trigger randomly after you’ve completed all story quests featured in the main storyline. It seems to be a bit glitchy, as I had to reload the game around four times before it decided to appear.

All of the story quests you need to have done to unlock this one are:

  • Welcome to Dreamlight Valley

How to fix A Forgotten Name quest bug in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The A Forgotten Name quest is a bit bugged, and doesn’t appear properly for all players. If you’re not seeing this quest, close out of the game and reboot it entirely. Repeat this process until you get it to appear. If this still doesn’t work, you may need to make sure you have all the main story quests done.

How to complete A Forgotten Name in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The A Forgotten Name quest tasks you with renaming The Forgotten and finally opening Skull Rock. Here are all of the steps you need to work through in this quest.

Talk to The Forgotten

Find The Forgotten around your valley and chat with them to get this quest started. They found a strange feather near Skull Rock and think there might be someone inside, so you need to investigate.

Follow The Forgotten to Skull Rock

Head down to the very southeast end of Dazzle Beach, near the small island just off the coast. Approach Skull Rock with The Forgotten, then chat with them to discuss what to do next.

Change The Forgotten’s name

Next, The Forgotten asks you to give them a name. You can choose from a few preselected ones or make your own name. It’s entirely up to you what you choose to call them, so pick whatever you like.

After naming The Forgotten, they join your valley as an official villager. The A Forgotten Name quest is then complete, and you can get to work unlocking Peter Pan. There’s also plenty more to uncover in the Mysteries of Skull Rock update, so consider checking out the patch notes to learn more.
