Where to find Icicle Spear TM 187 in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Another meta move for Baxcalibur

For players using Baxcalibur, multi-hit moves have become a cornerstone for the monster. Thanks to the Scale Shot TM and the Loaded Dice held item, Baxcalibur can deal heavy damage while boosting its speed at the same time. So given that loadout, finding TM 187 for Icicle Spear just makes sense. It matches the monster’s Ice typing for boosted power, benefits from Loaded Dice, and boasts more accuracy if your speed stat is set to sweep. Plus, Ice-Type moves are great offensively!

Icicle Spear TM 187 location in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Finding the Icicle Spear TM requires following a few steps. It’s located in Kitakami, which requires owning The Teal Mask DLC to access. If you’ve completed the main story, you might recall accessing the Chilling Waterhead cave on route to finding one of the Loyal Three. You’ll find the TM here, but for those who need specific directions, first travel to the spot indicated in the screenshot above.

To be more specific, if you go to the Crystal Pool fast travel point and loop around to here, you’ll eventually see a sign pointing toward the Chilling Waterhead.

Head down where that ladder leads and you’ll find the cave entrance.

From there, venture into the cave until you find yourself at the clearing as shown above. Due to draw distance issues, there’s actually a TM on those ledges to your left, you just can’t see it from there. Jump down to the second ledge on your left and you’ll spot a TM. This is where you’ll find the Icicle Spear TM!

There are more TMs lingering in this area as well, so if you haven’t grabbed them yet, make sure to search around.

How to craft Icicle Spear in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask

As always, you can opt to craft more copies of Icicle Spear if you need them. Here’s what you’ll need.

  • 10,000 League Points
  • 3 Swinub Hair
  • 3 Snorunt Fur

A more expensive TM in terms of League Points, but fairly understandable in this case. As far as materials go, longtime players may have the Snowrunt Fur they need already. You can find this monster both in Paldea and Kitakami, so you can opt to farm this one in a few different ways.

However, Snorunt only spawns in Kitakami, so I’d highly recommend farming both monsters there. In fact, Swinub and Snorunt both appear in the Chilling Waterhead cave where you found the TM. This makes Icicle Spear one of the easier TMs to farm, so good news for fans of Loaded Dice builds!

Having said that, note that as always, evolved forms of these Pokemon will drop the same materials as well. Stay warm farming!
