Nintendo’s newest hire is Duncan Orrell-Jones, formerly of The Walt Disney Company, where he worked as the senior vice president in the Disney Interactive Media Group. For Nintendo he’ll be heading up a new position as their Senior vice president of Network Business, a newly created position that will have him working on Nintendo’s digital strategy for the Wii U and 3DS.
“Duncan Orrell-Jones brings knowledge and hands-on experience to Nintendo that will help us develop and implement long-term digital initiatives for our systems,” said Orrell-Jones’ boss, Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime. “By creating this new position we’re demonstrating our commitment to the expansion of our online business, and Duncan is the perfect person for the job.”
I’m pleased to see that Nintendo is serious enough about network to create a new position. Here’s hoping for a strong push and some big changes.
