The always mischievous Oogie Boogie has arrived, ushering in an era of spooky chaos in Disney Dreamlight Valley. He’s also brought with him a series of quests to tackle, all of which must be checked off to unlock him as a valley villager.
The process for unlocking Oogie Boogie is vastly different from any other character, so it can be rather tough to figure out and work through on your own. If any part of the process is giving you trouble, here’s how to complete all Oogie Boogie unlock quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

All Oogie Boogie quests in Disney Dreamlight Valley
There are six quests you need to complete to unlock Oogie Boogie in DDV. He is not tied to a Realm or item you can find around the valley like most other villagers; instead, you must travel through a Strange Mirror that pops up inside Scrooge McDuck’s shop during the fall season to kickstart the unlocking process for him. All of the quests you need to finish are as follows.
- September 23: Week 1 — A Halloween Invasion
- September 30: Week 2 — The Oogie Boogie Contract
- October 7: Week 3 — The Ghost in the Portrait
- October 14: Week 4 — Rescue Mission
- October 21: Week 5 — Let the Games Begin
- October 28: Week 6 — Oogie Boogie’s Big Game
As long as you get the first quest, A Halloween Invasion, started sometime before Nov. 4, you can work through these missions to unlock Oogie Boogie at your own pace. Even if you don’t have time to keep up with his tasks on a weekly basis, try to start the first one so you can at least work on unlocking him later rather than having to wait for him to return.
This questline is available to start from Sept. 23 to Nov. 4, 2026. Once this period ends, the Strange Mirror that leads to Oogie Boogie’s lair will vanish from the valley, and he won’t return until 2027. From 2027 onwards, he’ll be back annually from Oct. 1 to 31, offering more chances to add him to your valley.

Oogie Boogie unlock quests walkthrough in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Here’s everything you need to get done for each Oogie Boogie quest in DDV. Not all quests are available right away, so we’ll update this section weekly as new missions become available to tackle.

Once you’re there, try to spin his Lucky Wheel. It won’t work, so you then must seek out Fear Essence to repair it, which is done by removing 10 Pumpkins in the Whack-a-Pumpkin game. Spin the wheel once it’s fixed to unleash some chaos around the valley, then hunt down some Oogie Boogie Bugs and Sweet or Spooky Pumpkins to claim more Fear Essence. Bring it back to Oogie Boogie, spin the wheel again, and claim your prize to complete this mission. |
