Harvest Moon creator’s new game, Hometown Story

Coming to North America this year

Remember Project Happiness from last E3? Last year’s tease from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada has its official title now: Hometown Story

Famitsu has the full story from Wada himself. He says that the game is nearly 60 percent complete, with the story being the bulk of what’s left for their workload. Wada says that you’ll play as a merchant in a village, and you’ll work to meet people in that village to get them to come to your store. It’s less about the store and more about making friends, it seems.

Game music composer Nobuo Uematsu recorded the game’s theme song. You can hear that work in this debut trailer on Famitsu, which has full English voicework

Hometown Story will come to portables in Japan. Natsume will release the game in North America this year, and Rising Star Games will do the same in Europe.
