Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version to be temporarily delisted on Switch

5-minute warning

Edios Interactive is warning that Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version is being temporarily delisted from the Switch eShop starting on February 27, 2023 at 10:59pm EST. Wow, that’s really short notice. This is due to a “publisher transition,” and it’s expected to be back up on April 1, 2023.

The announcement goes on to say that if you already own the game, you will be able to continue to play uninterrupted while the transition takes place. However, if you’ve deleted the game, they recommend that you re-download and archive it to ensure that you can still access it.

Guardians of the Galaxy delisting announcement

This isn’t super-great for anyone who was holding off on purchasing the game on Switch, but it’s not the most profoundly bad news. A little more warning would have been nice, but at least the publishers are being upfront about how long the downtime is expected to bad, and if you already own it you won’t have your access to it disrupted. I can’t really editorialize beyond that, since I definitely don’t have a horse in this race.

To reiterate, you have until 10:59pm EST tonight to purchase Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version. If you miss that window, you’ll have to wait until April 1, 2023.
