ArcheAge Chronicles is now available in early access, and there’s a fair number of settings to tweak to get the best visual performance. The game is fairly graphic intensive, especially when it comes to the RAM department.
Thankfully, the in-game settings allow you to get the best possible performance out of your system.
Best ArcheAge Chronicles graphics settings
Before I deep dive into the settings, here’s a rundown of my setup.
- 32 GB of DDR4 RAM
- AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
While my requirements matches perfectly the recommended requirements, I have focused more towards the lower-end devices. You don’t need to make too many changes if your device is already capable enough.
- Screen Mode: Fullscreen
- Vertical Sync: Off. You have to turn this on if you’re still getting a lag after making all the following changes.
- VRS: Off
- Upscaling: Off. Turn this on if you have a PC at the lower end of the power curve.
- Upscaling Quality: Balanced
- Low Latency Technology: Anti-Lag 2
- Low Latency: Off
- Character Display Limit: Default
- Motion Blur: Off
- Camera Shake: Off
- Hit Reactions: Off
- Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS. Keep this at 60 FPS for starters and then test out the performance. If you’re not getting lag, you can raise it up to 90 FPS, but don’t go above that.
- Graphics Preset: Custom
- Anti-Aliasing Quality: Medium
- Vegetation Quality: Low
- FX Quality: Low
- Lighting Quality: Medium
- Post-Processing Quality: Low
- Reflection Quality: Low
- Contrast Quality: Low
- Shadow Quality: Low
- Texture Quality: Low
- View Distance: Medium. However, turn this down if there are stutters.
With ArcheAge Chronicles, you’ll also want to pay attention to the quality of your internet. Packet bursts and inconsistencies will also lead to stutters and cause lag at your end. I am also expecting optimizations to appear in the game during the early access period.
