Destiny 2: The fastest way to farm Brave weapons

It's more efficient to keep restarting the race rather than run it through.

Are you trying to farm out Destiny 2‘s elusive shiny Brave weapons? While there’s no trick in making the shiny variants more likely to appear, there is something Guardians can do to increase the number of overall Brave weapons earned, thus offering more chances at that shiny. This same strategy can apply if players are just looking for a regular Brave weapon with a roll that’s good enough to keep. The best part? This farming method takes less time than running through a full Onslaught activity and awards more loot.

Shiny Brave weapons are variants of the regular Brave weapons. They have a much lower chance of dropping, but each has double Perk options and a snazzy limited-edition Ornament. Half of the 12 total Brave weapons are available at launch, with the remaining six coming on April 30. Guardians can earn Brave weapons from Onslaught and Lord Shaxx via opening Engrams in the Hall of Champions or by redeeming 10 Trophies of Bravery at the chest next to Shaxx.

Legend: Onslaught farm

Onslaught players face a boss every ten waves, earning a chest containing a Brave weapon. On Legend difficulty, Guardians get two chests instead of one, and if players clear Legend: Onslaught, the final boss drops three chests. In total, a cleared Legend: Onslaught will net players 11 chests. That said, Legend: Onslaught is a formidable challenge that can easily send uncoordinated or unprepared Fireteams back to orbit. Even if players prevail, they’ll likely have spent 70 minutes or more during the ordeal.

Instead, it’s more time-efficient to run Legend: Onslaught up through the first boss, open your two chests, and restart the activity. Doing this, Guardians will never get the three chests at the end, but each run will only take about ten minutes, and no one will have to deal with the buffed enemies that come in the later rounds. At two chests per ten minutes, players can easily open 12 in an hour and 14 by the 70-minute mark. Compared to the paltry 11 earned by completing the whole run on Legend, it hardly makes sense to put yourself through the grinder while farming.

Legend difficulty recommends 1810 Power, which players can easily reach through the Gift of the Thunder Gods chest in the Hall of Champions. Even still, and especially for newer players, you’ll want to ensure the Warlock, Hunter, or Titan build you’re taking into Legend: Onslaught fits the bill. As for locale, the Midtown map is easy to excel in, offering lots of cover and plenty of enemy choke points. And if players want to target a specific weapon, don’t forget about Attunement!

Of course, this isn’t the most engaging way to enjoy Onslaught, as it is genuinely fun scrambling to stay alive at the higher waves of Legend difficulty. However, this is the way to go if you’re just trying to get the most bang for your buck regarding time spent versus rewards earned.
