Just in time for the Steam Summer Sale
The Steam Summer Sale date, June 23, was promptly leaked again earlier this week. It’s almost time for PC gamers’ wallets to take some pain, but what if there was a small way to get even more savings during the sale? As of this weekend, you can get an extra 10% off on Steam Wallet cards along with other prepaid gaming cards at Best Buy.
For the Steam Summer Sale double-dip trick, you’ll need to pick up a Steam Wallet card during Best Buy’s Buy 1, Get 1 20% off sale. That means buying two $20 Steam Wallet cards will only cost you $36 — basically an extra 10% discount for anything on Steam in the coming days.
The sale promotion is not limited to Steam Wallet cards. This same sale gets you cheaper PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop, and other gift cards.
Been looking for a discount on Overwatch? You won’t find it at Battle.net, but if you buy two $20 Battle.net gift cards, you’ll only pay $36 for a Standard Edition of Overwatch. A pretty slick trick, if we do say so ourselves. (Note trick is further diminished if you live in a state where Battle.net charges sales tax).
The Gift Cards at Best Buy all offer free shipping or store pickup. In fact, free shipping is labeled as “Expedited Shipping” which will get you the card about two to three days after purchase instead of the usual five to seven business days (after all they’re just mailing gift cards), giving you plenty of time to immediately blow the card’s value for this and other summer sales.
