Atlus is crafting a remake of Etrian Odyssey 2, the company revealed today via Famitsu .

Subtitled The Knight of Fafnir, the dungeon crawler is a follow-up to Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, re-imagining an earlier entry in the series with new story elements, additional gameplay features, and visual enhancements; courtesy of the Etrian Odyssey IV engine. Anime studio Madhouse also makes a return, supplying the title with what should be gorgeous cutscenes.

The Nintendo 3DS role-playing game will launch in Japan this winter.
