Analyst: 3DS sales have ‘slowed considerably’

The bad PR for Nintendo’s 3DS just keeps rolling in, with one analyst now claiming that the handheld has suffered a remarkable slowdown in sales since it launched at the end of last month.

“Based on our recent checks, we believe that sales of the 3DS have slowed considerably since the initial launch window, although the Easter holiday could provide a near-term boost,” stated Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian.

Other analysts reckon that the 3DS shifted 500,000 units at launch in North America and there are predictions that, although the system will do decently, it won’t do better than previous DS systems. In Japan, the PSP is already outselling the 3DS, and in the UK, at least one newspaper has dedicated itself to ruining the machine’s reputation.

Looks like the 3DS can’t catch a break lately. Hey, at least you can make a Mii … that you do nothing with.
