Nintendo offers a free 3DS game for XL owners…in Europe

I’ll get you next time, Europeans!

If you’re a European owner of a brand new 3DS XL (or a previous owner), make sure you register for Club Nintendo and link your 3DS by January 15th, 2013, as you’ll have the opportunity to snag a free full retail title.

Once you register, you’ll get a code that can be redeemed from January 1st to the 31st, so you do have to wait a bit before you actually get the goods.

The games on offer are Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Freakyforms Deluxe, New Art Academy, and New Style Boutique. In case you’re wondering, the eligible countries are UK & Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, and Russia.

This pleasant surprise is like the Ambassador Program 2.0. I really hope Nintendo shares this promotion worldwide, as I haven’t picked up the latest Layton yet.
