If you haven’t been catching up with what Pokemon‘s been up to lately, here’s a refresher.

They’re currently on the “Ultra Sun and Moon” subseries, which are enhanced versions of Sun and Moon, the duo that brought us into the Alola region (Hawaii). In terms of the anime series they’re working on the second Sun and Moon arc, and the 21st film, Everyone’s Story, is set to debut in Japan in July. The latter is actually part of the film reboot continuity that started with Pokemon the Movie: I Choose You! in 2017, and in it, the brand new Mythical Pokemon Zeraora will debut.

For those of you keeping track, Zeraora is Pokemon number #807 in the National ‘Dex. You’d expect that after 22 years of the series there’d be way more, but Game Freak and Nintendo have been rather conservative with unleashing too many pocket monsters out into the world when it comes to each iteration.

Zeraora is an Electric-type Pokémon that gathers electric energy from outside sources, emitting strong electrical currents from the pads on its hands and feet to create a powerful magnetic field. Zeraora uses this magnetic field to levitate and move through the air with extreme speed.

Name: Zeraora
Category: Thunderclap Pokémon
Height: 4’11”
Weight: 98.1 lb.
Type: Electric

This Mythical Pokémon is said to be so fast that its maximum speed is the same as that of lightning strikes. When using massive amounts of electric energy for a powerful attack, Zeraora’s fur stands on end all over its body!
