Yo-Kai Watch is coming west, thanks to Nintendo

Big news for a big franchise

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Level-5’s Yo-Kai Watch franchise has been rocking it over in Japan since 2013 with over seven million units in sales. Rumors of a localization have been brewing for over a year now, and now thanks to Nintendo, we have confirmation.

The first Yo-Kai Watch game will arrive in 2016 in the US, Latin America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Korea. The only modifications we know of so far is a name-change of the hero from Keita Amano to Nathan Adams. 2016 is a long way away, but if Nintendo markets this right, it could end up being as successful as Pokémon.

There are already plans for merchandising, as well as localizations for the anime and movie.
