Maybe earlier is better, yeah?
Update: $50 gift code deal is now dead 🙁
Microsoft probably should have checked the calendar when it started up this Xbox One sale, but for those who don’t care or need to have it in time for Christmas, this deal is rock solid. For a limited time, the Microsoft Store is once again offering a gift code with the purchase of any Xbox One bundles. The value is now $50 (vs. the $60 during Black Friday), and on top of that you’ll get a choice of a free game from a selection of three older titles.
The more popular bundles are sold out (e.g. Fallout 4 1TB bundle), but it looks like there are still plenty of stock on a handful of bundles. All Xbox One bundles below gets a $50 gift code + 1 free game:
- Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle — $299 (list price $349)
- Xbox One The LEGO Movie Videogame Bundle — $299 (list price $349)
- Xbox One Rise of the Tomb Raider 1TB Bundle — $349 (list price $399)
- Xbox One 1TB Holiday Bundle — $349 (list price $399)
Before you get too excited, your freebie game choice includes Microsoft’s infinite supply of AC: Unity, Watch Dogs, and The Crew. No doubt Microsoft had some agreement with Ubisoft in offloading its overstock titles into sales promotions.
The $50 gift code shows up in cart automatically and will be delivered to your email address by January 8 (this depends on your order date) and would be good for anything at Microsoft Store such as another controller or game.
If you must have this Xbox One bundle deal in time for Christmas, you’ll have to pay for expedited or express shipping at $10 and $17 respectively, or you can head over to your local Microsoft Store if one is available in your area.
No expiration date are provided by Microsoft, but we’d imagine the deal will end fairly soon as Christmas nears. Will we see the Xbox One hold at the $299 price tag after New Years? Our magic 8-ball says “Sure, why the hell not.”
