X comes after Z as far as new Puzzle & Dragons is concerned

Puzzle & Dragons X coming to 3DS

Puzzle & Dragons X is confirmed for a 2016 3DS release in Japan. The money-printing series’ (50 million downloads as of a couple months ago) next dedicated console entry is a follow up to Puzzle & Dragons Z, which was sold outside of Asia bundled with Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition.

Though “X” is a few letters before “Z,” Puzzle & Dragons X will continue the RPG-like additions (towns and NPCs) the previous 3DS offshoot had over the mobile version, according to Siliconera translation of Hachima reporting on the announcement in Famitsu. In fact, it looks like a lot of Puzzle & Dragons Z content is just being remixed, with additional content, over 500 monsters, and extra RPG elements.
