Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls’ spotty launch on PC means ARC SYSTEM WORKS have to work harder to regain player trust, one of the game’s producers said.
Takeshi Yamanaka opened up about the game’s Steam launch, marred by performance issues that made it unplayable for some and tough to run for many, saying that the prolific fighting game studio’s devs are working every day to fix faults.

“We realized that the issues on the PC version have created a lot of trouble for the players, and we truly apologize for that, but we can promise that we are continually working very hard on improvements for the future,” Yamanaka said to VGC. “And we hope that players will stick with us and keep creating more excitement from Marvel Tokon.”
I played Marvel Tokon and reviewed it on PS5 Pro, where it was a basically flawless game from a performance standpoint. But for PC players, it was a very bad first step with the plagued launch, and ARC SYSTEM WORKS knows it has a rough road ahead trying to get players back, even with multiple patches aiming at fixing the broad set of performance issues the game was facing.
“I do think that it’s an extremely challenging task that we need to undertake, where we sincerely want to put all of our effort forward to create an environment where the players can experience this game that we’ve worked so hard to create, and that we do have a lot of confidence that the game itself will be really fun for them,” Yamanaka said.
Yamanaka said that the studio “truly appreciate every single player who purchased the game around the launch,” and apologized again for the problems. But with the game peaking at over 24,000 players near launch and cratering to around 2,000-4,000 daily on Steam in the weeks following, it’s clear that some damage has been done.
“I do feel that it will not be an easy task at all to regain the trust that we’ve lost from this,” Yamanaka continued. “However, this is an issue that we’re facing head-on, and we’re trying to tackle it directly to try to continue working with all that we have and to provide an environment where players will be able to smoothly experience the game.”
