It’s barely been a few short months since Geoff Keighley was on our screens with video game trailers and advertisements, but he’s back once more, and he’s bringing goodies.
Mr. Keighley’s Opening Night Live from gamescom kicks off on Aug. 25 and will run for two hours, showcasing some upcoming games that we know about, and hopefully dropping some surprises about stuff in the works.
So far, Keighley has confirmed the appearance of several games during the showcase, and some of them are coming soon:
- The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past
- Final Fantasy VII Revelation
- Gears of War: E-Day
- Ananta
- Tides of Annihilation
- Metro 2039
- Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
- Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons

gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 – All announcements and trailers
The gamescom ONL pre-show kicks off at 12:30pm CT, with the real show beginning 30 minutes later. Updates are to follow.
Worms: Galactic Tactics – Reveal trailer
The pre-show hosted by Kyle Bosman kicked things off with a new Worms strategic tactics game, and the end of the trailer confirmed another new Worms game is in development.
Train Sim World 7 – Release date trailer
Trains! Trains? Yeah, trains, and a whole lot of them. The new game in the locomotive sim franchise is coming out on Sept. 15.
Roller Coaster Tycoon: Wonderworks – Announcement trailer
Speaking of sim games…Roller Coaster Tycoon is back! It’s coming soon to Steam early access, and looks like it captures the essence of the original games really well.
Aniimo – Release trailer
The upcoming creature collector got a new trailer ahead of its release next month.
Genigods: Nezha – New trailer
An action RPG based on Chinese mythology? Sign me up. You can learn more about the new game here on Steam.
Perceptum – New trailer
Oooh, spooky first-person horror game. It’s coming to Steam in 2027.
Acornia: Mirror Worlds – Reveal trailer
Another 2027 title, this one is from the devs of Tinykin. You play as a squirrel.
Valor Mortis – Story trailer
The new first-person action soulslike is launching in October, and this new video revealed some of its story components.
Tankrat – Release date trailer
A rat in a tank. That’s basically all you need to know. It’s launching in January.
Murals – Reveal trailer
Another 2027 game. Are you sensing a pattern yet?
Humankind 2 – Announcement trailer
This whole trailer is from the perspective of babies being born. But it’s an RTS game about mankind.
Elta: Defy All Gods – Reveal trailer
A hulking beast with a cute lizard dragon pal. I’m sold!
Age Twisters – Reveal trailer
A two-player co-op game starring a kid with their grandpa, and it looks like a fun puzzle adventure.
Onimusha: Way of the the Sword – New trailer
The latest in Capcom’s samurai series is almost here, launching on Sept. 4, and the pre-existing demo also got an update to include more gameplay.
Mariachi Legends – New trailer
A gorgeous pixel-style 2D Metroidvania game, it’s launching this upcoming April.
And that was just the pre-show…now the real show begins. And here we go…
Nodus Fall – Reveal trailer
Geoff took the stage and the first thing he showed was a new world premiere, and an unexpected one at that. A gorgeous-looking new entry from Hoyoverse, and it’s not an anime gacha title. In fact, it looks like an Unreal Engine 5 Monster Hunter-like. I like what I see!
Rainbow 6 Tactics – Reveal trailer
A new Rainbow Six tactics game in the style of XCOM, complete with a narrative and operators from Siege. I like what I see here, too. Add it to the 2027 list.
Gears of War: E-Day – Campaign trailer
A deep dive look at the story mode for the new Gears of War prequel showed the game’s Bravo squad and the main Locust villain. It launches on Xbox and PC on Oct. 6.
Ananta – New gameplay and release date
I still have no idea what this game is. It’s anime but it’s GTA-style open world but you can swing around like Spider-Man. It’s launching on Jan. 15, 2027.
Silent Hill: Townfall – Cast reveal trailer
Silent Hill heads to Scotland and a first-person perspective, and it looks spooky as hell. It’s launching next month.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – Launch trailer
Hey, I know this game because it drops in two days. Will you be picking it up?
Sea of Remnants – New trailer
Piracy, but the fun kind. This new sea-faring game can be wishlisted.
Crimson Desert: Enhanced – New trailer
An updated version of one of this year’s most polarizing games includes updates and post-launch content, and it’s on sale for 20 percent off right now.
Tides of Annihilation – New trailer
Angela Sant’Albano of Grace Ashcroft (Resident Evil Requiem) fame officially takes over for Jennifer English as lead character Gwendolyn.
