The World Ends With You iOS teases new character

When Square Enix launched a The World Ends With You-themed teaser site a few weeks back, fans of the cult DS hit The World Ends With You freaked out. Their hearts and minds were filled with pink bubbles of joy.

A week later, and Square Enix had turned those pink bubbles of joy into poop bubbles of sorrow. Instead of a sequel, fans were treated to an iOS port that removed the game’s signature gameplay mechanic (it’s simultaneous, dual screen action combat system), while chalking in at $19.99. Poop bubbles indeed!

Now fans are being dragged into the cycle of hope again, with a secret ending to the iOS port that shows off some new character art and the words “new 7 days”. Who is this mysterious girl in headphones? Will she star in her own game (preferably on the 3DS or other dual screen device)? Will she feature in a DLC scenario made specifically for the iOS port? Both? Neither? Only time will tell. In the meantime TWEWY fans, don’t let your hope bubbles get too inflated. The bigger the bubble, the stinkier the poop.
