Valve’s DOTA 2 tournament

Valve’s DOTA 2 tournament, The International, is taking place on July 18 through July 21 in Seattle at the KeyArena this year. General admission tickets are $99, floor seats are $199, and a VIP package for $499 will get you access to all six days of playoffs, floor seating, VIP meet & greets, and access to the after party. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 3PM PDT through Ticketmaster.

I’m bewildered, and also jealous, that anyone would want to pay $499 to watch other people play a videogame of any kind. Then again the fandom around DOTA 2 is nuts. To the point that the DOTA blog has a timezone guide for all the people around the world that are looking to purchase tickets.
