Kirby finally has a reason to be angry

Tales of Zestiria was the best-selling game in Japan last week, netting over 340,000 sales in its domestic debut, according to data compiled by Media Create.

For reference, here’s how previous entries in the series fared in their initial weeks at market:

  • (2012) Tales of Xillia 2 – 364,439
  • (2011) Tales of Xillia – 525,605
  • (2010) Tales of Graces f – 215,187
  • (2009) Tales of Vesperia – 216,593

Meanwhile, The Legend of Legacy, a Nintendo 3DS role-playing game from Unchained Blades studio FuRyu, was the week’s runner-up with 54,000 sales.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse was another notable new release, though its reception was rather tepid. Nintendo’s pink puffball trailed at number three with a deflating 32,000 units sold.
