Besides divulging the PC requirements for the third stand-alone S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, Call of Pripyat, developer GSC Game World also launched the official site for the first-person shooter complete with a selection of new in-game images and some character bios.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Intel Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz / AMD XP 2200+
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 128 MB DirectX® 8.0 compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 5700 / ATI Radeon® 9600

Recommended System Requirements

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 / AMD 64 X2 5600+
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 512 MB DirectX® 9.0c compatible card / nVIDIA® GeForce™ 9800 GTX / ATI Radeon® HD 4850

Are they doable? Definitely. I’m no expert PC builder, but I’d be willing to bet you could very easily meet the recommended requirements for under $600 if you assembled the rig yourself. It’s not until you bring visual-enhancing mods into the equation (assuming there will be some) when things start to get kind of expensive.
