Smash Bros. 3DS update vaguely addresses balance issues

Required for online play

The first post-release update to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is a bit of an enigma. Nintendo doesn’t give the specifics of it, just that it’ll “make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” We’ll have to take your word on that, Nintendo.

The update, which also includes the previous v1.0.2 patch, fixes some issues with balance and is required for online play. The one noticeable improvement is that the Conquest chart will no longer be displayed when in Conquest Mode.

It’s unknown what the balance tweaks will change or how they’ll affect the game. Maybe your main character will get a little bit better or a little bit worse today. Or, maybe it’s all in your head.
