Shiny Gimmighoul Pokémon Go odds

Never tell me the odds.

As part of Pokémon Go’s 9th anniversary celebration, trainers have a few days to try and find a Shiny Gimmighoul in its roaming form for the first time, if you are lucky enough to find one.

To even get a Gimmighoul to appear, you must also own a copy of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and link Pokémon Go to it daily to be able to access the Gold Bag, which, when used, spawns Gimmighoul’s for 30 minutes. You get more spawns if you are walking while using it, around 30+ each time, whereas if you’re standing still, you’ll get a new spawn every five minutes.

Some trainers have been incredibly lucky in finding the new Shiny Pokémon, whereas others haven’t been able to see one over multiple days. So what exactly are the odds of finding this elusive Pokémon?

What are the odds of finding a Shiny Gimmighoul in Pokémon Go?

Shiny Gimmighoul’s official Shiny rate odds haven’t been confirmed by Scopely, but trainers are convinced it’s the same odds as finding a Shiny Meltan. This would make the odds around a 1 in 125 chance of finding a Shiny Gimmighoul when opened from the Gold Bag.

Both the 9th Anniversary Gimmighoul and the normal Gimmighoul can be found as a Shiny Pokémon with this method, but you can’t evolve the 9th Anniversary Gimmighoul into Gholdengo, so depending on whether you are trying to get a Shiny Gimmighoul or want the Shiny Gholdengo, you need to pray that luck is on your side if you eventually find one.

After the 9th anniversary event ends on July 7, 2025, you won’t be able to find Shiny Gimmighoul again until Scopely decides to add it back sometime in the future, so make the most of the time you have to try and find one before it is too late.
