The Apex Protocol Gear set is a new addition to The Division 2, and it’s tied directly to the Echoes of Central Park DLC. The DLC has added a new playable area, and you get new bosses to kill.

These bosses are directly involved in providing you with the equipment pieces, but the job is easier said than done.

How to farm Apex Protocol Gear pieces in The Division 2

For starters, you will need to have access to the Echoes of Central Park DLC. Without it, you will not have access to the new location, which is mandatory for farming this gear set. As of writing, there is no other possible way to get the Apex Protocol gear pieces aside from playing in Central Park.

Once you have access to the location, your next task is to finish the main story campaign. It’s a relatively easy one, and you can also finish it as a beginner. Veterans can bring their Prototype gear, but the bonus effects will be unavailable at this location.

When you finish the campaign, you will learn about the Guardians. They were all former SHD agents who got involved in nefarious activities. This completely metamorphosed them and turned them into the apex predators. To get your gear pieces, you will need to defeat all of them.

There are five of them located all around the map, and you can see their locations on the image above. Head to the marked spot, and you will find the Lair of a Guardian. Once you reach a lair, you will have to deal enough damage to make the Guardian appear.

You will then have a set amount of time to kill the Guardian. As you deal damage, you will have the possibility of receiving the gear pieces as reward loot. The odds are not listed by Ubisoft, but they certainly go up at higher difficulties in my testing.

Hence, playing at Heroic will be the most rewarding thing if you do not mind the challenge and simply want to increase your luck of finding these pieces of gear.
