It’s been ten years to the day since Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne first released on PlayStation 2 in Japan and Atlus has some great news to celebrate. Shin Megami Tensei IV has been officially announced for a May 23 launch in Japan.

The long-awaited role-playing game will also receive a limited edition 3DS XL which, in addition to looking like a terrifying inkblot painting, comes with a digital version of the game pre-installed on the system. No word on a western release just yet, but the folks at Atlus are nice people. Hopefully we won’t be waiting too long to see a release on this side of the Pacific.
