Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final gets original SMT IV cast

Including one party member

Atlus is embracing confusing naming conventions with the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final, which Atlus has billed as not a direct sequel to SMTIV (you don’t have to have played it to play Final) when we last wrote about it.

“Set in a dystopian Tokyo in the year 203X, the Nintendo 3DS exclusive follows the exploits of a silent protagonist who, after dying in battle, returns to the land of living after forming an alliance with Dagda, a demonic god, who together set out on a mission to kill a group of other deities.”

Despite this, the SMT IV cast (Flynn, Jonathan, Walter, Isabeau) will make an appearance in SMTIV: Final. Isabeau will even join the new protagonist’s party. Also, if you have original SMT IV save data, “you’ll obtain items and equipment that will be useful on your adventure in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final.” It releases in Japan on February 10.
