See you on the green: Mario Golf: World Tour international tournaments

Collaboration with Callaway Golf

As someone that spends his life bragging about his superior ability in videogame golf, I’m excited that Mario Golf: World Tour will feature both regional and worldwide tournaments. Nintendo says it’s easy to get into: get online, check your SpotPass notifications for events play in them, and then send your results up before the deadline comes up. Expect all kinds of events, from smaller things like long-drive challenges to full-on tourneys. I can’t wait to win and make good on all my bragging.

Of course, players will be able to create their own online multiplayer events as well.

Nintendo announced this morning that they’re collaborating with Callaway Golf to host a series of in-game tournaments starting May 22. All that participate in the events will earn digital Callaway Golf items like clubs and balls. These items will enhance stats, too.

A demo of World Tour will be available on the Nintendo eShop on April 24. The real deal follows on May 2, priced at $29.99.
