RollerCoaster Tycoon hurtling towards 3DS

Pull down your lap bars and empty your pockets into the safety pouch, because the next major installment in the RollerCoaster Tycoon series is coming to the 3DS.

Developed by n-Space, the folks responsible for the Call of Duty DS titles and the upcoming Heroes of Ruin on 3DS, the new RollerCoaster Tycoon is being built from the ground up with plenty of exclusive assests to take advantage of touch controls and 3D viewing. In addition to constructing coasters — suspended, hydraulic, wooden, steel, and inverted styles will be available — you’ll be able to handle all aspects of amusement park management, right down to hiring a janitorial staff.

I’ve unfortunately never played any previous franchise entry, but I have built my own kick-ass virtual coaster with the assistance of Bill Nye the Science Guy at DisneyQuest. I’ll gladly put my engineering skills to the test once again when the game drops in March 2012.
