Riogok Shrine location and solution for Tears of the Kingdom (Totk)

Hylian Rube Goldberg machine

Recommended Videos

Riogok Shrine is a typical puzzle shrine in Tears of the Kingdom that has much more to it than what appears at first glance. This puzzle shrine connects from start to finish like a Rube Goldberg machine, making it one of the more interesting shrines in the game. We’ll show you exactly how to complete the shrine below, but first, let’s look at where to find it.

How to find Riogok Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom

Riogok Shrine is located in the Hyrule Field area of the map. You can find the shrine by heading southwest from Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, it’s not far to walk. The shrine is just to the west of Hopper Pond and north of the River of the Dead. Check the screenshot above for the exact location of the shrine on the map.

How to complete Riogok Shrine

Riogok Shrine requires you to put multiple parts together using Ultrahand to reach the end. When you enter the shrine, you’ll be presented with a locked door, two cogs, and a gap between them. To open the door and activate the wheels, you’ll need to attach the pole on the floor to both cogs, just like in the picture above.

Once attached, strike the golden plinth. It will turn green to signify that it is activated, and the two cogs will begin turning, opening the first door. You can head through, but it’s important to remember that the pole connecting the cogs is the key to the rest of the shrine. If you accidentally block the next wheel, it’s possible for the pole to be forced off the cogs, stopping the wheels and closing the door. If this happens, you’ll need to reattach the pole with the door closed, which is easier said than done.

In the next room, there’s another pole on the floor. Take the pole and attach it to the lever base, like in the photo above. Pull your homemade lever to open the gate and reveal another pole.

Before we get to the next challenge, there’s a chest on a platform up and to the left of the lever. Attach both of the poles together to double the length, then raise the long pole so you can attach it to the chest, which allows you to bring it down to Link.

In the chest, you’ll find a Mighty Construct Bow, which is very useful for low to mid-level players.

After getting your fancy new bow, you’re free to set up the wheel and platforms to get to the end. To reach the top and the exit of the shrine, the two poles will need to be positioned like in the screenshot above. However, you can’t reach the top of the shrine by placing the poles in place with Link on the ground.

First, connect the horizontal pole to the end of the platform. It needs to be far enough forward that the wheel lifts it up high enough to nearly reach the top ledge. If it’s too short, the wheel will lose its connection with the pole, and the platforms will fall down before you have a chance to get off.

When the first horizontal pole is in place, you’ll need to jump onto the extended wheel piece to lift Link up as it’s moving the platform. Move from the wheel to the platform and wait for the wheel to come around again.

Grab the second pole using Ultrahand and place it on the platform, although not in its final position yet. To get the second pole into position, you’ll need to first step on the small platform as the wheel lifts up the first. You should be able to move from the large platform to the small one when the wheel is at the peak of lifting the platform.

After you’ve made it to the small platform, pick up the second pole once again. You need to attach it to the large platform, like in the screenshot above, while Link is standing on the small one. This will allow the wheel to lift both platforms at the same time, and, most importantly, the small platform will be able to reach the ledge with the added boost from the pole.

When both platforms are lifted by the wheel, hop up to the top with Link, and you’ll have completed Riogok Shrine!
