Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition will make Nintendo a lot of money

It was bound to happen eventually

Leave it to Mario and co. to get me interested in the Japanese mobile sensation Puzzle & Dragons. I mean, that Fist of the North Star tie-in had my curiosity, but not like this.

Nintendo and GungHo Online are bringing Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition to 3DS on April 29, 2015 in Japan. If this is your first time hearing about these role-playing puzzle games, frankly, the footage above should be plenty sufficient. You build out a team of familiar faces from the Mushroom Kingdom (say, for instance, six Bloopers because you’re cool) and match tiles. Fun.

Given Mario’s worldwide popularity, I have to imagine this will be localized for Western markets. Talk about an easy in to attract audiences who, like me, would otherwise never touch P&D.
