Psyvariar has been around for a long while. Originally it debuted in Japanese arcades in 2000 from developer Success Corporation, but it’s since gone on to develop an audience on PS2, spawn several upgraded iterations, and a sequel. It was just released on consoles in Europe and Japan, but it’s about to get a whole lot more accessible later this year.

As confirmed by Famitsu, Psyvariar is coming to the PS4 and Switch with an HD tuneup an an additional gametype under the moniker Psyvariar Delta. It’s great that it’s being released on PS4 and Switch specifically — two of the easiest platforms to get region free games for.

Long live the shmup genre!
