Announced in tandem with the European National Championships

Fresh off of providing details for the upcoming Pokemon European National Championship event, The Pokemon Company has announced that since their launch in November of 2014, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire sales have topped “more than three million units in just Europe alone.” This measures up to the recent sales figures for the Virtual Console re-releases of Red, Blue, and Yellow, which reached the mark of 1.5 million worldwide.

All told, I felt a bit winded with ORAS, and didn’t really get into it as much as I did with the newest proper entry in the series. I played X & Y for over 500 hours altogether, and cherished every moment of it. With a light break admist random plays of other games in the franchise, I’m more than ready to embrace Sun & Moon when they’re released later this year.
