Nintendo to allow transfer of games between 3DS handhelds

Recommended Videos

Nintendo has released a hardware fact sheet with still more details on the 3DS, including one feature which is sure to make DSi owners looking to upgrade very happy. You will now be able to transfer your DSiWare purchases from your current handheld to a 3DS.

Not only that, but you will also be able to transfer titles you have purchased from one 3DS system to another. There will be a limit to how many times you can perform this task, a number which has yet to be revealed. Hopefully there will be some way to work with Nintendo should you run into a severe need to break that limit. This is a huge step forward in terms of respecting digital ownership for the company.

Welcome to the 21st century, Nintendo! We were wondering when you’d get here.
