Death, taxes, and the Nintendo Download update are always inevitable. Nintendo waits for no holiday — Christmas, New Year’s — it doesn’t matter, they are going to update the eShop on Thursday.
Sadly today isn’t all that great. The Wii U is getting Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, as well as a discounts for Shovel Knight ($9.99 until January 8th), and Unepic ($6.99 until January 29th). The 3DS is getting Bionic Commando: Elite Forces on the Virtual Console, as well as an identical Shovel Knight discount.
That’s it, guys. Although Shovel Knight is easily worth $14.99, I recommend picking it up at the sale price if you haven’t already. Both systems are great but the Wii U is my platform of choice mainly thanks to the GamePad and extended control options. Note that the 3DS has an extra asynchronous multiplayer mode though.
If you missed last week’s edition, here it is. As for what I’m getting, it’s a pass, though I’ll quadruple dip on Shovel Knight once it hits the PSN.
