The Nintendo Direct that took place on June 9 had some interesting announcements, and many not-so-interesting. Here are the highlights we thought were worth talking about.
Pokémon Pokopia free update and paid DLC
The recently launched Pokémon Pokopia has a free update and a paid expansion coming up soon, with the expansion pass available as of today. The update, featuring an underwater theme, gives us the chance to join our water Pokémon in their natural habitat.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dark Arisen

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally getting its first DLC after being announced during the Nintendo Direct. The studio managed to get the game, which was met with mixed reviews after a rough launch with major performance issues, running better.
Now it’s being put to the test again with a DLC titled Dark Arisen, and it’ll be interesting to see how it runs.
Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave
Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave got a release date, and it’s set to go live on 17 September, which is already a stacked month for gamers.
I’m excited to see where they take the classic franchise and what’s next for it.
Donkey Kong Bananza DLC
Donkey Kong Bananza has a crossover event with Mario, but you need the paid DLC to partake, so if you’ve been holding out, now could be the time to jump in. The event is limited and starts later today and will run for four different waves lasting a week each.
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble Survivaton
This is basically a multiplayer JJK x Vampire Survivors, and it looks amazing. You can, of course, also play it in offline singleplayer mode. There are also online battles where the best two survivors duke it out against each other for the W.
It’s set to launch on the Switch 2 this year.
New Xenoblade game
Along with the first three titles in the series making it to Switch 2, we’ll also be getting a new entry to the franchise. It’s set to launch in 2027 and has been dubbed Xenoblade Genesis.
New Final Fantasy 2DHD game
Final Fantasy Resonance, a 2DHD title, will be launching on 22 October of this year, so if you’re a fan of the genre and the franchise, keep an eye out for that one. In the footage, we even saw a suspiciously Cloud-looking character riding a chocobo.
Dragon Quest Creature Collector
A new creature collector in the Dragon Quest universe is set to launch on December 3, 2026. In it, we can befriend and even fuse iconic monsters from the franchise. It’s called Monsters: The Withered World, and it’s definitely worth adding to your calendar if you’re a fan of the franchise.
FromSoftware game announced for the Switch
The Duskbloods doesn’t have a release date right now, but we will be seeing a closed network test in the summer of 2026. The visuals are really impressive, and it’s definitely a title to get excited for.
Kingdom Hearts 1-4 coming to Switch 2
The Kingdom Hearts games have a special place in many gamers’ hearts, and now they’re coming to the Switch 2 on October 8, 2026. And yes, that title wasn’t a typo. We’ll also be getting Kingdom Hearts 4, which doesn’t have a release date yet, but it sure is exciting news for fans.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake coming to Switch 2
Ocarina of Time will be getting a remake for the Switch 2! It has no hard release date yet, but it has been slated for a 2026 release. I hope it’ll do justice to the 1998 classic, which was one of the most influential games of its time.
And that’s all we got in the June 9 Nintendo Direct. There were some nice-looking, and overall, I was pleasantly surprised after that odd start.
Anything that you’re excited for that I missed? Let me know in the comments.
