Nintendo and Best Buy to offer 3DS wireless content

Nintendo and Best Buy are teaming up in a promotion to bring exclusive content to Nintendo 3DS owners. Starting on June 7th, a thousand Best Buy locations across the United States will begin offering free wireless services which will include SpotPass access, movie trailers and other downloads.

In the press release, the representatives of both companies make specific reference to this being an educational opportunity for new 3DS owners. This is an important thing. Nintendo partnering with a massive retail chain is a great way to raise awareness about the wireless functions of the 3DS.

Take StreetPass, for example. Were you aware that I have stood outside of schools as they let out for the day like some kind of pedo trying to get some goddamn data? Yeah, it wasn’t humiliating at all. I’ve also waded through stadium audiences and yet the only bit of data I’ve received is from the one time Jordan remembered to bring his 3DS over to my apartment. I’m convinced that people don’t know how to turn it on (or why they should) and I pray to God that Best Buy can teach them. My Mii is getting really pissed off about being in that dungeon.
