Miyamoto: Flipnote Studio coming to 3DS

Recommended Videos

In addition to bits about Mario’s latest adventure, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto has also shared with French journalists plans to bring Flipnote Studio to the 3DS eShop.

For those of you unaware, Flipnote Studio is a free program available on DSiWare that allows users to create flipbook-style movies. It’s a fun little piece of software that has yielded a bevy of remarkable videos. That it’s being updated for the 3DS could mean that it’ll include expanded functionality — any hope for 3D movies? How would users even be able to do that, anyway?

Miyamoto also states that Flipnote Studio will remain free, and that you should be able share movies more easily with friends if Nintendo can properly regulate “naughty” images.
