Mega Man II, III, IV, V, and Xtreme are coming to the 3DS

The rest of the Game Boy lineup is coming to the Virtual Console

While the first six NES Mega Man games are currently residing on the 3DS Virtual Console, there’s one odd man out sitting there all by his lonesome — Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge — the first and only Mega Man Game Boy title currently available.

But that’s about to change, as Capcom has announced that Mega Man IIV are coming “soon,” to the US and EU, as well as the Game Boy Color games Xtreme and Xtreme 2, which are based on the Mega Man X series. If you want to read about any given game listed above, you can check them out in my lengthy Carter’s Quest retrospective on the Classic series. The standout recommendation here is clearly Mega Man V, which is one of the best in the series — feel free to check out Tony’s thoughts on it.

There are no dates currently set for anything, but at least we have some sort of confirmation to go on. Can we get info on Mega Man 5 and 6 on the Wii U VC next, Capcom?
