Korg M01D synth/sequencer coming to 3DS eShop

Worldwide release this summer

Hey, music nerds! You’ll be interested to hear that Detune’s reworking of the classic Korg M1 synth will be coming to the 3DS eShop this summer. The upcoming Korg M01D Music Workstation is essentially a mini music studio suite for the 3DS, packed full of the sounds of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Users can draw on over 300 sounds, drop them into the touchscreen sequencer, and make music on-the-go.

Using the power of the 3DS, M01D is beefed up a bit from the previous version, which was only available on the DS. More notes and sounds are always good, but the biggest upgrade is that MIDI data can be saved on an SD card. This lets you use the M01D as a musical sketchpad while on the move, letting you pull that data over to your computer for further work. Also, song data can be exchanged over 3DS Wi-Fi.

Detune says that Korg M01D will be released in Japan next month, and will follow worldwide on the 3DS eShop this summer.

I’ve been all over every release from Detune, starting with their incredible Korg DS-10 music software for the DS. I can’t wait to make some music on the M01D!
