Mechs make everything better
Remember hopping in a mech in Mega Man X, punching the crap out of everything in your way, and not wanting to finish the level because doing so would mean ditching the armored suit to fit through the boss gate? Good times! That’s what I think of whenever I see the new Kirby game, Planet Robobot.
This Japanese trailer sums up Kirby’s new moves, his various mech suits (which you can even decorate!), and some of the extra modes. The four-player co-op RPG side game, Team Kirby Clash, looks promising. And for you amiibo caretakers, you’ll find a preview of the toys’ functionality.
While my fondness for this franchise has faltered over the years, I enjoyed Kirby: Triple Deluxe and that has me feeling even more confident about this one. Japan is getting Planet Robobot in only a couple short weeks, on April 28, but the rest of the world has to wait until June 10. Typical!
