Keiji Inafune apologizes for Mega Man Legends 3

To say that fans have been upset by Capcom’s cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 is to say that Mega Man likes blue pants. Design icon Keiji Inafune has sympathized with gamers, and even went so far as to apologize, despite having nothing to do with Capcom anymore.

“The decision for the cancelation was out of my sphere, but as someone who took part in the development, I’d like to convey something to the staff: I’m sorry that I couldn’t be of assistance,” he said, before addressing the fans with: “I’m truly sorry I couldn’t take part until the end.”

Inafune may have left Capcom, but he was still very invested in the project and appears to be genuinely saddened over the game’s demise. All told, this has been a very miserable tale indeed for a game that many were looking forward to. Shame.
