Love at first swipe?
A 27-year old Tokyo resident nicknamed Sal 9000 (he wouldn’t give his real name) has taken a new bride. You might know her: Nene Anegasaki. Yes, Sal has taken the Love Plus (3DS) character’s virtual hand in marriage.
The were married last month — him in a white tux, her with her battery fully charged. CNN says that friends supported him via an online ceremony. While not exactly a legal union, Sal went through all the motions for Nene.
You can’t question his devotion. They’ve been on dates to Disneyland and a Guam beach resort. He even puts her in a Ziploc bag when they go swimming! He says that with Nene he doesn’t feel the need for a real human girl.
“I love this character, not a machine,” Sal told CNN. “I understand 100 percent that this is a game. I understand very well that I cannot marry her physically or legally.”
